New Delhi, August 29: The New Single Simplified Pension Application Form 6-A, which will be integrated with Bhavishya/e-HRMS, is scheduled to be launched on August 30 at the National Media Center in New Delhi. Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, Earth Sciences, and other portfolios, Dr. Jitendra Singh, will oversee the launch.
This new form is a key component of the Department of Pension & Pensioners' Welfare (DoPPW)'s 100-day Action Plan for the new government, reflecting the "Maximum Governance - Minimum Government" policy.
The DoPPW aims to enhance the Ease of Living for pensioners by continually refining Pension Rules and Procedures. Previously, the DoPPW introduced the CCS (Pension) Rules, 2021, which have now been integrated with the Bhavishya platform.
On July 16, the DoPPW announced the New Single Simplified Pension Application Form 6-A, which will be available on Bhavishya/e-HRMS for all Central Government Employees retiring from December 2024 onward. Retiring officials using e-HRMS will complete Form 6-A through the platform (for Superannuation cases only), while others will use Bhavishya.
The new form consolidates nine existing forms/formats, including Forms 6, 8, 4, 3, A, Format 1, Format 9, FMA, and the Zero Option Form. Amendments to Rules 53, 57, 58, 59, and 60 of the CCS Pension Rules, 2021, have been made following consultations with various stakeholders, including the Departments of Expenditure, Law & Justice, the Controller General of Accounts, the Comptroller & Auditor General of India, and the Department of Personnel and Training.
The new form and updates to Bhavishya’s processes are expected to significantly simplify the pension application process by reducing it to a single signature and enabling end-to-end digital processing of pension workflows, including the initiation of payments after retirement. This paperless system aims to make the process more user-friendly and reduce the risk of errors or missing forms for pensioners.
