Tokyo [Japan], September 6: Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw met with Japan's Minister for Digital Transformation, Taro Kono, on Friday to discuss enhancing digital cooperation between India and Japan. They explored opportunities for collaboration and innovation in the digital sector.
Vaishnaw shared on X, "Had a productive meeting with H.E. Mr. Taro Kono, Minister for Digital Transformation of Japan, to discuss strengthening India-Japan digital ties and exploring future technological advancements."
Upon arriving in Japan on Thursday, Vaishnaw paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Gandhi Park in Tokyo.
Earlier, Vaishnaw engaged in a "productive discussion" with Japan's Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Tetsuo Saito, focusing on boosting railway cooperation and cultural exchanges between the two nations.
He also met with Masafumi Mori, Special Advisor to Japan's Prime Minister, to discuss the current and future status of the India-Japan strategic partnership.
On August 20, India and Japan reaffirmed their commitment to upholding a rules-based international order, respecting national sovereignty, and supporting the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific. They condemned terrorism and emphasized the need for a peaceful resolution of disputes, stressing support for ASEAN's unity and the principles of openness and transparency in the Indo-Pacific region.
